Testament Music and Calhoun Street Music and their affiliated companies are the music publishing companies associated with HighTone Records. All compositions in the Calhoun catalog are embodied in masters owned by Shout Factory on the HighTone, HMG and Testament labels.
Testament Music writers include Robert Nighthawk, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Big Joe Williams, Walter Horton, Johnny Young, Dr Ross, Johnny Shines, Eddie Taylor and numerous other Chicago blues, Delta Blues and gospel writer/performers. The recordings that contain the Testament compositions were recorded by musicologist Pete Welding in the 1960s and are classic, authentic blues and gospel music.
The Calhoun Street/Martha Road music catalog contains songs by modern bluesman James Armstrong, HighTone producer/partner Bruce Bromberg, singer/songwriter Laura Minor, Americana artist Ben Atkins, The Hollisters, The Hot Club of Cowtown, Redd Volkaert, Buddy Miller, and Teddy Morgan. The recordings that contain these songs are owned by Shout Factory.
